Mathews 09'

With the local school systems shut down for a second day in a row, Steve and I decided to ease the "cabin fever" we were suffering from and head down to the local pro-shop to see what Mathews had in store for the new year.

As usual, they didn't disappoint.

While Steve test drove the new Reezen 7.0, I opted for last years jewel, the DXT.

I have been shooting an Ultra 2 for several years now and when I first drew back the DXT, I almost couldn't believe it! Expecting a harsh draw, I pulled with everything I had. I was shocked, and pleasantly surprised when the string came zipping back. Unbelievable smoothness doesn't quite sum things up. I shot better than I have ever shot; consistently placing the arrows in the spot 20 yds down range. Shooting a draw weight 5 lbs heavier than my current set-up will prove no problem at all. In fact, the DXT felt much smoother on the draw and after the shot.

My old Ultra 2 has sentimental values, but I think perhaps I may have to make room for a new favorite!

I want to send out a Special Thanks to Frank Addington of Addington's Bowhunter Shop for all of the help and hospitality on a cold, snowy, day.

By the way, ScentBlocker and Mathews have teamed up to develope a new carbon clothing line as well as boots, shooting shoes and scent control products. Specificaly tailored for Mathews fans everywhere.
More on this exciting news later!
